Game Management

Miller Point has been on a deer management program for the better part of three decades.  The average age of a deer harvested at Miller Point is 4.5 years or greater.  Annually, each member may harvest one buck of any age or size and one that must meet certain age and size requirements for a total of two bucks per membership per year.  The annual harvest is determined by game biologist and subject to change each year.  The doe harvest is typically unrestricted.   The property also has a timber management program that is designed to improve and enhance the wildlife habitat rather than the timber value.  This program has proven to be very beneficial.
